Week Three of the Usui Virtual Reiki Retreat
Today marks the third and final week of the Usui Reiki Virtual Retreat. I invite you to join with us and participate in whatever way suits you. Here is the meditation for the week:
The Usui 21day Virtual retreat August 15 - September 6, 2010
The Third Week
Welcome to the third week of the Usui Retreat 2010. If you have missed the two previous weeks of the retreat, please read and integrate the exercises we have done so far before continuing. You are lucky, because you can do all this in fast forward…
Together we have embarked upon a noble journey. So far this journey has taken us from spiritual awareness to love, but we don’t want to stop here, for a delicious quality is just about to unfold itself before our eyes. The next step is to generate compassion, which is love in action. If awareness is the seed of spiritual development, love is the germination and compassion is the flowering. But compassion has been misunderstood as something focused and projected onto the other. The fact is that compassion like anything else begins at home, with your own self.
Compassion
As we have seen, compassion takes a clear mind and a heart full of love, then it appears on its own accord. If you are not convinced and you would like some help from above, you can look for images that evoke compassion in your own religion whatever it might be. For a Christian the ideal image might be Jesus Christ or Mother Mary. For a Buddhist it might be the Buddha himself or Senju Kannon, the manifestation of compassion on Earth. But whatever you do, please focus your attention inwards. All of your religions provide images of inner human qualities. You are Christ and Buddha; you are Mother Mary and Senju Kannon in seed. Right now, take the decision to allow this seed to sprout and grow into a blessing for the Universe and all that inhabits it.
The Meditation
Sit in a quiet place and make sure the telephone is turned off and you are not disturbed for 30 minutes or more. It is helpful to sit with your back erect in a 90-degree angle and to breathe as deeply as you can in your lower abdomen. Breathe in and out through your nose, letting the breath touch your Tanden (two or three fingers width below your navel). Forget everything else and know that there is nothing to be done, nothing to be changed and nothing to be achieved. Allow everything to be as it is; let the neighbor’s dog bark and the wind pass through the trees. Allow the trucks drive past your house without judgment. There is no need to say yes to this and no to that. Everything is as it is.
It may be helpful to close your eyes lightly and focus your attention on the point between your eyes, the third eye. This will help you to focus your attention.
Now let your heart be filled with compassion and let this compassion be unconditional. If you are aware of some mental/emotional pattern in your self that you previously had difficulty accepting, please pay special attention to that. When your heart is filled with compassion let it permeate your whole body, heart and mind as you go along. Bathe in the light and warmth of this compassion, and let it purify you completely. When you go to sleep tonight, send out the compassion you have gathered through the Universe, filling all the far corners of it with its divine nectar.
For the next seven days and beyond, every one you meet shall be the recipient of your love and compassion. Allow literally everyone this luxury and if you need a little help with this, imagine that every one of us has parents. Every one of us is a child of the Universe and is looked at by his mother and father with love and tenderness. In this week don’t deny this love to anyone you encounter, including
yourself. Allow compassion to arise in every moment of life, whenever you remember. You may not succeed with this one hundred percent, but that too is part of the journey, which will continue every day of your life.
Thank you for taking this journey with me, I am looking forward to meeting you one day on the beautiful beach of Eressos, Lesbos Island, where we live and love, laugh and cry and often sit in the Majesty and Silence of the mountains. You can reach me by email at Arjava@ReikiDharma.com or else meet me on the road to self- discovery, with love and gratitude from Greece, your friend
