Healing Angels- Linda Lemay
This is the second in a series of Healing Angels posts, in which I will be featuring individuals who have endeavored on their own personal journey of healing. These are people who have become empowered in the process of their own healing, and are now helping others to achieve the same goals. I call them "Healing Angels" and I am happy to present Dr. Linda Lemay. Dr. Lemay is a friend of mine and I have been treated by her on many occasions. I often refer people to her, telling them that she is the only acupuncturist I know who charges the needles with Reiki once they have been inserted. As a Reiki Master, I love the integration of the two modalities and I think it makes for an even more effective treatment. I now want to indroduce Dr. Linda Lemay:
Hello, I'm Dr. Linda Lemay and I practice medical acupuncture in beautiful Central New York. I received my MD from Boston University, then trained in family practice at UCLA. After practicing Western medicine for 20 years I became frustrated with the many chronic "lifestyle" conditions that were treated with medications but did not address the root health problems.
I became interested in Eastern practices through a personal yoga practice, which helped my own chronic neck and back pain. Later I became certified in Reiki and acupuncture after experiencing the beneficial effects of those firsthand.
I find that these holistic methods allow the body to heal naturally without drugs or surgery. Of course good nutrition is a must for good health, so I encourage my patients to eat foods grown locally, seasonally and organically. We are blessed in this area with many farmers who practice sustainable agriculture.
I love getting to know my patients and helping them to find their own unique healing path. Many chronic conditions respond well to acupuncture, especially those which are exacerbated by stress. The most common reasons people seek my services for are: headaches, back/neck pain, arthritis, menopausal symptoms, sleep and mood disorders, allergies/sinus/asthma, infertility, neurological conditions, and side effects of cancer treatment.
