Welcoming 2008

2008 is finally here and we welcome the influx of new energy. So far, the theme of new year for me has been about learning to follow the energy and live by the energetic laws of nature. For me, as for most of us, 2007 was a year filled with doing; we did so much good work  and accomplished so much. But if you're anything like me, you ended the year feeling a little bit drained. We end up acting like "human doings" instead of "human beings".

I think this comes from a feeling that things are speeding up; that there's an urgency in what we need to do; especially when we are helping others. I have spoken to so many people lately that feel the same way; it seems like there's not enough time to do all of the work, to touch all of the lives that need it so desperately. But at the same time, we run the risk of burning out. For most of us in the helping professions, we put others' needs in front of our own, and fail to give ourselves the care we need in order to keep doing the work.

We've all heard that before, and it may sound a little preachy, but if you look at the energetic laws of nature, you will see that there is really no rush and that we are given a finite amount of time in our lives with which to work. The important thing is how we use that time, not how much we pack into it. In fact, the more we pack into it, the less mindful we are and the less we are attuned to the truth of each moment.

2008 is a year that will bring us the opportunity to really look at where we expend our energy, and whether that serves us and others. Does it really serve yourself or the people around you if you do more for them than you do for yourself? No. Will they stop you from doing so? Probably not. You have to really take a hard look at where you get your energy/inspiration from and make more opportunities for that in your life. When you tap into source to replenish your energy, you naturally have more than you need and the extra spills out to the ones around you. But if you don't remain connected to your source of energy and fulfillment, and instead, keep pushing yourself forward out of a sense of obligation, your energy will just become depleted until you manifest symptoms of some kind.

It also does not serve others when you do too much for them. In fact, it just holds them back from moving forward on their journey. So if you feel like you're doing something wonderful by overserving those around you, now is your opportunity to realize that it actually does not serve them or yourself. In the Soul Realignment readings that I offer, these energetic patterns can be identified and cleared so that you can begin to live in alignment with your highest path and purpose. I wish you a year full of light and love as you move forward on your journey.
